El trabajo se enmarca en el presupuesto de comenzar una delimitación conceptual del gobierno de la penalidad, determinando elproceso de la institución carcelaria, indicando el modo en que los procesos sociales, económicos y políticos fueron definiendo eltrato punitivo. Se pretende posibilitar un diálogo con las técnicas que se han ido desplegando en el curso de la historia, y delimitar el modo en que se lo ha hecho bajo ciertos intereses. Determinar cuáles fueron estos intereses que motivaron la evolución del encierro punitivo o de qué modo esos intereses han influido en sus transformaciones permitirá analizar las significaciones y finalidades que los métodos punitivos han mantenido en la historia y conservan su vigencia actual. Se propone conocer qué tipo de identificación tiene el inicio del proceso productivo y la necesidad de disciplinar y regular poblaciones con la producción de la penalidad, y por otro, cómo el saber de los métodos que administrarían las prisiones se determinó independientemente de los límites que el mismo derecho penal moderno instauraría (legalidad, proporcional, humanidad de las penas, etc…) la función propia del trato punitivo

This work is set in the proposal of starting a conceptual delimitation of the penalty goberment, which determines the process ofpenitenciary institution. This indicates the way in which social, economic and political processes have been defining punitive behaviour. What it is pretended to do is to posibilitate the dialogue with the techniques that have been unfolding through history, and to delimitate the way in which this has been done under the influence of certain interests. Delimiting which were the interests that have motivated the evolution of punitive imprisonment or in which way those interests have influenced in its transformation will allow us to analyze the significance and purposes of the punitive methods had in history and the preservation of their current validity. Proposes to know, on the one hand, which type of identification has the beginning of the productive process and the need to discipline and regulate the population with the penlaty production; and on the other hand, how the knmowledge of methosds administrating prison sentence was determined independently of the limits the very same modern criminal rights will establish the proper functioning of the punitive behavior (legality, proportional, the humanity of the sentence, etc.)
